Another wobbly day at sea making our way to Great Keppel Island. Interesting to go past Gladstone and see the numerous vessels, ports and refineries along the way. Another first was going through The Narrows, luckily high tide was 7am which was a perfect time for us. Arrived at Great Keppel Island just in time for lunch.

The seas were rough and the wind gusty at times, and it didn't help that the snuffer seemed to be snagged. It was an almighty team effort to get it down, the video recording stopped at that stage, it was all hands on deck. Finding a safe place to anchor for the night was a challenge too. That was enough excitement for the day. Each day is certainly a new experience with new challenges!

The tail wind made it a perfect day to raise the spinnaker, this is the first time that we have raised it other than during commision of the sail back in Sydney. Due to strong winds we decided to base ourselves at Hervey Bay (Great Sandy Straits Marina) for a few days until the strong wind settled down. It was an opportunity to get our new collapsible bikes out and explore, also to do a full clean of Paradise, get some electrical work done, provision the boar and to get out and meet some locals. 12th May is Mothers Day and our wedding anniversary. John and I have been married for 29 years, geez!! I missed being with our children, my mum and aunty and John's mum on Mothers Day.
